Dental labs managing dozens, hundreds, and thousands of cases daily need tools that keep up with the pace and precision of modern workflows. Whether you're already running splints, models, or metal designs through CADflow, or you're just starting to explore automation, our latest Desktop App update—Version 2.3.1—brings features designed to reduce clicks, accelerate design time, and give you even more control over case outcomes.
We’ve introduced a new Base Pair Articulator Attachment that now supports 2, 3, or 4-pin setups. With adjustable Pin Diameter, Offset from Base, and Support Bar Thickness, you can fine-tune your model bases to match your printing hardware and preferences.
The result? Stronger and cleaner articulation right off the printer. This system supports all appliance types and is optimized for digital production environments.
You’ve probably had it happen: a splint comes back from the floor or after delivery marked as a Flat Plane, but after rechecking the Rx, the doctor requested another type of splint such as an Anterior Ramp. Previously, catching that meant restarting the case or submitting a new prescription.
Now, with parameter resubmission directly inside the CADflow Desktop App Inspector, you can update design parameters on specific cases and reprocess them, without starting from scratch. Whether it’s tweaking occlusion settings, adjusting splint thickness, or updating a base height, this small but powerful change helps avoid unnecessary remakes and preserves your team’s momentum.
For labs designing to ABO standards, Version 2.3.1 now supports paired Study Models with features to:
Align upper and lower arches automatically in your digital workflow
Preserve occlusion during the CAD CAM dental process
Follow ABO model dimensions and specs, including rounded mandibular profiles
Customize total height of paired bases to match lab standards
This makes preparing ABO-ready study models easier than ever, especially for high-volume dental professionals managing exam-ready 3D printing workflows.
For those managing multiple product lines or fine-tuning settings, the redesigned Parameter Profile window now features a three-column layout in a maximizable format. You’ll spend less time clicking through nested menus and more time making meaningful adjustments. A small update with a big usability boost.
Desktop batch notifications: so you know when cases are ready, even when polling is running in the background
Metal design updates: including new options for screw and screw-bar placements and band coverages on occlusal surfaces and gingival margins
Splint design upgrades: including separate anterior & posterior contact depth control and shape presets (Standard, Smooth, Square)
Blockout Toolkit: beta access available, giving you more tools for pre-print prep on complex cases
We’re already testing new features for the next release:
View blockout models directly within the Inspector
Pre-upload checks for improved QC and dental scanner compatibility
Space Mouse support for Inspector navigation
At CADflow, we build for Dental labs. These updates come directly from conversations with partners who use our platform every single day, from splints technicians creating designs to owners reducing remake stress. We hope this release makes your work easier, more efficient, and even more accurate.
